Graduate Assistanship
The Department of Industrial Engineering has an assistantship program for graduate students in the programs of Masters in Sciences in Industrial Engineering with thesis and Masters in Engineering in Management Systems. Usually these assistantships include exemption of the matriculation payment and monthly stipend granted during the established school periods according to the academic calendar. The assistantship is offered for a maximum of two years. Its granting is subject to the recommendation of the Departmental Graduate Committee. The recommendation is for every school period.
This program of assistantship is a vehicle to recognize the academic excellence and responsibility of the graduated students, at the same time that attend to the necessities of the department.
All graduated student with assistantship will have to satisfy the eligibility norms established by the institution and in addition:
- The student must have his curriculum approved at the end of the first semester in the program; otherwise he will not be eligible for assistantship.
- Approve at least nine credits by semester or have an academic progress according to the curriculum. Classes with an incomplete grade (I), are not considered approved until the definitive grade is assigned.
- Approve all the registered courses with qualification of A or B. If a student obtains another qualification (C, D, F, W, NS), the student will not be eligible to receive assistantship for the following semester.
